Meaux - Ed Weddle 1988 Comp Dragster (rolling ) + with Trailer ForSale $10,000 ( Or Best Offer )

need to sell to help towards purchase new SuperFlow-DTS 2000+ HP Engine Dyno

An old "new"1988 Ed Weddle 215" Wheelbase 2-piece Chassis ...last SFI-1996 certf for B/ED and C/ED + Advanced ET back then
less than 40 total Dragstrip runs .... one of the last Dragsters Ed Weddle built before he died .

Ed Weddle was famous for building all of Bill Maropulos's B/ED twice Comp Elimin Champion in those years

very last Run on unprepped Track was
7.560 ET at 181.459 MPH 1.079 60 FT 1420 Lbs w/Driver with various weights in Car
SBC 355cid 720HP 483 TQ on my Dyno in 1988 ( Engine not included )

215 WB Dragster is 2 trick piece , bolts together behind Driver
sort of like 4-link ... 4 mounting positions to vary CG Height Lowest = less traction Highest= more Traction
also the Engine+Trans can separately be tilted inside the rear half of chassis for perfect coupler alignment
Dragster front-to-rear tire alignment has been Laser aligned .
Dragster easy to push around in Pits, etc.

Mark Williams large bearing Ford 9" aluminum center section / Spool / 35-spline axles
5.14:1 Richmond Rear Gears
Shorty Powerglide by Harry Clack 1.82 1st
A1 7" 8000 Stall Converter
3-Step Jet Hot Headers included 1 7/8, 2, 2 1/8 3.500 Collector

old "new" 4 runs GoodYear "USA" Tires 14.5x33 on 12" wide rims were on last pass of 7.56 ET at 181.459
the 14.5x33 were just a little quicker than the 12x33 on 10" Rims that day
made 2 intial baseline Runs with 12x33 then 4 runs with 14.5x33
that was last time i raced the Dragster back in 1996

years later updated with new Optima Battery , but no further runs

also included are old pair of rare "USA" 12x33 Tires which back then were highly sought after by Comp Racers
( with 10" Weld Rims included )

basically was built for B/ED and C/ED , i ran it a few times as C/ED
started building a B/ED engine , but ended up running my 355cid/720hp bracket engine in it instead
it can be as light as 1350lbs with 180lbs Driver with all the weights out and lite Battery, etc
i ran it at 1400 to 1420 lbs

.032" T6 alumin skin/body panels ( instead of typical 1/16ths thick ),
no overlapping panels to save weight + less number Dsus fasterners/brackets to save 6 lbs

Barry Grant 400GPH or 450GPH ?? Fuel Pump ( i can't remember which ) :)

professionally wired with all different color wiring for easy distinction

Simpson brand new "old" Bandit Helmet + SFI Suit + glooves + pants goes with it ( no longer in Spec )

HoodScoop has 2 plates incuded , 1050 and 750 Type Carbs, with sealed-in tubes around Fuel Needle/Seat adjustment

Wilwood disc brakes + alum Master Cylinder
_______________

Chassis needs to be updated with extra side Bars around Driver's Head
and Rear End was originally part of frame and is welded in a unit...now needs vertical brackets to be welded and bolt in for new Specs

The Dragster rides/handles/drives really smooth
can act like much longer wheelbase Dragster as you move mounting point of rear half up or down

this 215WB out ET'd and out MPH , out handle and out 60Ft -hooked my older 247wb Dragster

Picture of one of last times racing it
( Trailer in the background is the old Trailer )
Trailer that goes with it is much newer 6x6 by 28ft enclosed tag along
