Slowly but surely

She's slowly coming together.

It's been a several month ordeal, but finally I've gotten motivated.

Drill and tap the manifold for the injection, and plumb the vacuum pump and she's ready to dyno :D

That's looking nice. I got one on the engine stand right now but it is a street engine.

This particular project has taken way too long, but the end is in sight. They say good things come to those that wait, guess we'll find out next week when she hits the dyno.

Looks like my date with the dyno's gonna be a week later than expected. My guy's not gonna be able to get me on this week :( Between the holiday and a Promod race he's racing in next weekend, I've been delayed

Have you got an idea on the starting point for nozzles and return pill? I see a gold pump... I hope 0 1/2?

Is that the same injection setup that was on your old engine? What pump, nozzle, pill did you run in that?

Made it back from the dyno.

The little motor did good.

871.3hp @ 7400
690.6lb/ft @ 5900

I'm really surprised at the torque output! She averaged 839hp and 650tq from 6000 - 7600. It made 805hp @ 6000!

Best pull came with .038 nozzle and .082 pill with 32* timing. 0 1/2 pump.

The other engine ran best with .038's and .092 pill. I've had great luck with the gold pump. That particular one's been on the car since 2000.

So, what's it gonna run @ 1650lbs?

Nice!!! 8)

4.59 @ 149
7.24 @ 183

Give or take .05

When is the maiden voyage?

I'm hoping to get out next saturday, but family obligations may keep me out another week. I'll do my best to get it together.

I know my converter is gonna be too loose, but I would like to make one outing with the old converter to have a baseline to work from.

clevo,

No, no highspeed on this combo.

I'd loved to have made a pull of two on M5 to see what would happen.

The weather yesterday was 93* with a dewpoint of 61*, giving a DA of 3600'. The uncorrected power on the best pull was 795hp. So with DA's in the 3000 range, I know I can be running down the track with 800hp.

If I can get it to run anywhere in the .60's I'll be thrilled.
